Our Ethos
No one better than you, artists, genius builders of beauty, to sense something of the Pathos with which God, at the dawn of creation, contemplated the work of his hands
John Paul II
The origin of our school is based mainly on the teaching contained in the documents, letters and pontifical speeches delivered from the Second Vatican Council on the necessary dialogue and mutual collaboration between the Church and the artists.
Sacred Art School of Seville (EASS) is a non-profit cultural-educational association, whose profits are invested entirely in the improvement of the institution itself. The EASS has educational and cultural purposes related to the field of all artistic disciplines of sacred art and religious heritage.
We firmly believe that in order to make quality contemporary sacred art, artists must know and understand the keys to the rich legacy of the Christian artistic tradition. The teaching of hundred-year-old artistic techniques that are near disappearance will alternate, along with avant-garde artistic techniques and tools.
Likewise, we believe it is essential to complement artistic teaching with the teaching of the most relevant concepts of Philosophy and Theology, Sacred Liturgy, Art History, Christian Iconography and Artistic Entrepreneurship, without which you cannot have the basis to express what you don’t’ know.

The EASS is not the bearer of a single style, nor does it adhere to any specific artistic movement. Our school provides its students with the necessary knowledge, both to make a traditional religious art and to make a contemporary religious art.
In the cultural field, the EASS will seek to promote the creation of bridges for dialogue, collaboration, exchange of knowledge between architects, painters, sculptors and other artists, public, private and religious institutions.
The EASS will enjoy a great cultural dynamism participating and organizing conferences, exhibitions, cultural visits, congresses, events, competitions, contests, and all kinds of cultural outreach actions. Carrying out commissions and religious artistic advice for dioceses, parishes, chapels, religious schools and individuals.
